Nice try, but…

Good concept to back up photos and gain device storage, so one star for attempt. But, to have application always running in background? Umm, no.
I am a computer user who is very security minded, so as it is, location data is already turned off for photos.
As a rule, applications never run in the background gathering location data, and putting a drain on the battery.
